About us

Who we are

Africa Study Centre brings together leaders, social entrepreneurs, employment generators, intellectuals, scholars, writers, wellness experts, naturalists, and artistes who are committed to Africas upliftment and knowledge sharing.

We connect academic insight with lived experience to build spaces for reflection, collaboration, and action across the continent.

Africa Study Centre is a collaborative platform where members are affiliated with diverse faculties across Economics, International Affairs, Anthropology, Science, and History. Our governing council brings together dedicated statesmen, entrepreneurs, civil society activists, journalists, and philanthropists.

The Centre aims to provide a roadmap for Africa-related academic, research, and skilling activities, creating opportunities for collaboration with partners across the continent. We focus on building bonds between scholars and practitioners, recognising that Africas economies, populations, and challenges are all growing together. We see Africa not only as a place of growth, but as a continent that can learn from and move beyond its older peers.

Overall, we are a team of spirited individuals from varied backgrounds working together for the upliftment of Africa as a whole.

Our aims

We focus our work on a set of clear aims that guide our programmes and partnerships:

Diluting and removing established stereotypes about Africa.

Fostering direct people-to-people contact within Africa and with the wider world.

Building non-diplomatic, leader-to-leader connections.

Consolidating and indexing existing entities of importance across Africa.

Creating non-imperialistic support systems and deeper understanding of Africa.

Nurturing friendly relationships among African nations and with partners worldwide.

Our academic and civic ties

Members of Africa Study Centre are connected to universities and institutions across Africa and beyond. Their work spans economics, international affairs, anthropology, science, history, and more. Through these links, the Centre supports research, teaching, and policy engagement that is grounded in lived realities.
